Have you ever heard TV sportscasters mention about a double-double in basketball? Are you wondering what they were talking about? A double-double is an impressive individual statistic that basketball players can earn.

🏀
A double-double refers to when a player accumulates a total of ten or more in two statistical categories during a game

This means that the player must record at least ten points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, or any other combination of two stats that adds up to ten or above. For example, if a player records 16 points and 10 rebounds in one game, they have earned themselves a double-double.

Double-doubles are considered to be an impressive statistic by fans because they demonstrate that the player was able to contribute significantly to their team’s success in more than one category. Some players are able to achieve multiple double-doubles in a season; while others may never achieve one at all – either way it’s still an impressive feat!

Recording triple doubles (total of 10 or more in three statistical categories) is even more difficult than recording a double-double but some players have been known to do it on occasion – think Russell Westbrook and his record 42 triple doubles during the 2016–17 NBA season! It’s certainly an incredible accomplishment for any basketball player who can make that happen.
